Safety Gear & Onboard Policies
Your safety is our top priority on every MADGAFFER II charter. Our 35-foot Henriques Maine Coaster is equipped with all required U.S. Coast Guard–approved safety gear, including life jackets for every passenger, throwable flotation devices, fire extinguishers, and visual/audible distress signals. We also maintain a fully stocked first aid kit and reliable marine VHF communication so we can respond quickly in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Before we leave the dock, the crew will point out the location of life jackets, extinguishers, and emergency equipment and provide basic instructions on what to do if an emergency occurs. Listen closely to all crew directions while underway; following instructions helps keep everyone safe and lets us focus on putting you on the fish.
For everyone’s comfort and safety, we ask that guests drink responsibly—a small amount of beer or wine is permitted, but no hard liquor or drugs are allowed at any time. Please wear non‑skid footwear and dress appropriately for marine conditions, which can be cooler and windier than on shore. Children and weak swimmers may be asked to wear life jackets while on deck, especially in rough conditions.
